showbeamza.org began as a personal project to photograph the towns, coastlines and communities that rarely make it into travel guides. Since then, it has grown into a small collective of photographers, writers and local guides who travel across Canada to document its people and places.
We believe the most memorable places are shaped by the people who live there. That is why every story we publish pairs photography with the voices of the people we meet along the way.
We photograph places as we find them, favouring candid, documentary-style images over staged scenes.
